Volume Carrier Selection

Overview

The volume carrier selection page allows you to manage the carriers being contacted for availability and quotes. The first step is to search carriers and previous shipments and add the desired carriers to the participating carrier list. The next step is to contact the carriers and update the quote information. Finally when you select the desired carrier they will be saved on the load and the shipment can be dispatched.

Searching for Carriers

There are a few ways to search for carriers that will participate in the quote process. The purpose of this step is to find qualified carriers before contacting them.

Search Carrier List

This option allows the entire carrier list to be searched. The results are limited so entering part of the carrier name will return a shorter list. Once you filter the carrier list you can select the carrier from the carrier list results. You can select multiple carriers by holding down the ctrl key while clicking on the carrier name. The MC number and carrier type can also be used to search existing carriers.

Search History

This option is a powerful tool that will let you search for previous spot quotes and shipments. Use the drop downs to refine or broaden the search criteria. Once you search for the carriers click the check box on the left of the desired carriers then click save selected at the bottom of the page. A limited number of shipments will be returned.

Load Boards

Links to the load boards are available on this page. To enable them please contact support. The links will allow you to post loads and to search for carriers on each of the available load boards. When posting the loads the Public Quote Link can be added to the posting so the carriers can respond without having to call each time. They can enter their information and the quote information by clicking on the link.

Add New Quote

A carrier that has not been added to the system can be added to the participating list by clicking on the ?Add New Quote? button. This will let you enter basic information about the carrier then if they are selected you can automatically add them to the carrier list and select them as the carrier for the load.

Carrier Notification

Once carriers have been added to the participating list they need to be notified. This can be done by faxing, emailing or calling.

To email carriers click on the checkbox to the left of the name then click the Email Selected button. An email with a link to the quote will be emailed to all the operations contacts for each of the carriers. If the carrier does not exist in the carrier list then the email address listed on the quote will be used. The information included in the email is similar to the information listed under the Public Quote Link section.

There is also a Public Quote Link at the bottom of the page that can be copied and pasted to an email or load board. This link and the information below it will provide the basic information a carrier needs to provide a spot quote.
